My wife has suggested that I use this blog to jot down some of my ideas, which I often talk about but rarely get around to writing up. So--very soon--I'll start doing that. Two topics I'd like to tackle are these:
(1) Groundhog Day and the Ring of Gyges
(2) Why ritual?
I bet you can't wait to find out what the heck I'm talking about.

I guess we need government approval if we want to avoid fines or jail time. (Also: Be subject to the powers that be until he reigns whose right it is to reign.)
But you may mean, Do we need such approval in some ultimate moral or ontological sense?
